The luminous efficiency and lifespan of LED are closely related to the operating temperature, showing an inverse relationship. The following figure shows the LED lifespan report released by CREE in the United States. Every time the temperature drops by 10℃, the lifespan will be extended by 2 times and the luminous flux will increase by 3%~8%. We do not recommend fan cooling during the design process, because the life of the fan is shorter than that of the LED.
