Intended Use

The Rapid Malaria P.f./P.v. Test Kit is a lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of
circulating antigens of Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax in whole blood.

Principle of The Test
The Rapid Malaria P.f./P.v. Test Kit is composed of a nitrocellulose membrane, which is pre-coated with anti-HRP-II antibodies and anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase antibodies. During testing, the specimen reacts with the conjugates on the conjugate pad. The mixture then migrates along with the membrane by capillary action, reacts with anti-Histidine-Rich Protein II (HRP-II) antibodies on the membrane on P.f Test Line (T1) region and with anti-pLDH antibodies on the membrane on P.v. Line (T2) region. If the specimen contains HRP-II or Plasmodium-specific P.vivaLDH or both, a colored line will appear in P.f line region or P.v. line region or two colored lines will appear in P.f line region and P.v. line region. The absence of the colored lines in P.f line region or P.v. line region indicates that the specimen does not contain HRP-II and/or Plasmodium-specific P.viva LDH. 

Control line should always appear if the test procedure is performed properly and the test reagents are working.

Storage Conditions and Validity

1. The Rapid Malaria P.f./P.v. Test Kit should be stored at room temperature (2~30°C). 

2. Stable to the indicated expiry date printed on the pouch or kit box when kept in the unopened
pouch at 2~30°C. 

3. Do not freeze.
