LED track lighting is a combination of track and light. The track is installed on the ceiling and provides power for a series of lights. Actually, a track lighting system can be line-voltage or low-voltage, single or two circuits, and flexible or straight. 
Line-voltage systems use the standard electrical wires and current which provides 120 volts to the light fixtures.
While, Low-voltage systems have a small transformer built in that takes the current down to 12 volts, allowing the system to use a greater variety of bulbs and light fixtures.When you buy track lighting fixtures for your track lighting system, you should identify what kind of track you have or what kind of track you want to use. And you should check if the fixtures are compatible with the track system in place.
