What is the difference between COB LED and SMD LED?

The main difference between COB LED (Chip-on-Board LED) and SMD LED (Surface Mount Device LED) lies in their structure and lighting characteristics.

1. Structure:
- SMD LED: SMD LEDs consist of multiple individual diodes mounted onto a circuit board. These diodes are connected in series or parallel to create a point light source.
- COB LED: COB LEDs have multiple diodes directly mounted onto a single substrate (usually ceramic or metal). These diodes are closely packed together to form a single, larger light source.
