How does the CNG/LPG differential Pressure Sensor work? Opposite sides of a single diaphragm receive two pressures to be measured. The deflection of the diaphragm indicates the difference in pressure with respect to the resting state, whether negative or positive. For industrial use, some sensors use two separate absolute sensors as well as a control system to measure the desired parameters in the system. In these systems, one can easily measure the pressure, flow rate, level, interface, and density of a liquid or gas. Another important application of these sensors is that they can detect blocked or stuck valves! By measuring the pressure and calculating the results, it can easily show if anything is holding up progress. If the pressure on the flow end of the valve is higher than on the other end (or the starting end of the valve), you may find a blockage that needs to be resolved. CNG/LPG differential pressure sensors differ from static pressure sensors in that static pressure sensors have only one port to measure pressure, whereas differential pressure sensors usually consist of two ports connected to pipes.
