Ketron® PEEKPOLYETHERETHERKETONE 1000 (raw, unfilled PEEK) has similar chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance to PPS, but can be operated at higher temperatures. The original PEEK material has steam and abrasion resistance, and can be used continuously at 480°F (250°C) and hot water or steam without permanent loss of physical properties. For harsh environments, PEEK is a high-strength alternative to fluoropolymers. PEEK has a UL 94 VO flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emissions when exposed to flame. Ketron® PEEK 1000 is a new unfilled polyether ether ketone). This universal grade is unreinforced and has the highest elongation and toughness of all PEEK grades. The newly launched black PEEK 1000 is very suitable for instrument parts that value aesthetics and seal parts that value ductility and inertia.

Applications
Scraper blades in heat exchangers, sleeve bearings for steel wire guide rollers, gas analyser structural body parts, pump wear rings.
KETRON PEEK-1000 natural (brownish grey) / black (PEEK)
KETRON PEEK-1000 stock shapes are produced from virgin polyetheretherketone resin and offer the highest toughness and impact strength of all KETRON PEEK grades. Both KETRON PEEK-1000 natural and black can be sterilised by all conventional sterilisation methods (steam, dry heat, ethylene oxide and gamma irradiation). Additionally, the raw material used for the production of KETRON PEEK-1000 natural stock shapes received the Japanese MITI approval which includes testing with respect to solvent extractables and mutagenicity, and its composition complies with the directives of the European Union and the American FDA regulations concerning plastic materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. These features make this grade very popular in medical, pharmaceutical and food processing industries.

KETRON PEEK-HPV (black) (PEEK+CF+PTFE+graphite)
The addition of PTFE, graphite and carbon fibres results in a KETRON PEEK "Bearing Grade". Its excellent tribological properties (low friction, long wear, high PV-limits) make this grade the ideal material for wear & friction applications.

KETRON PEEK-GF30 natural (brownish grey) (PEEK-GF30)
This 30% glass fibre reinforced grade offers a higher stiffness and creep resistance than KETRON PEEK-1000 and has a much better dimensional stability. This grade is ideal for structural applications supporting high static loads for long periods of time at elevated temperatures. The suitability of KETRON PEEK-GF30 for sliding parts, however, is to be carefully examined since the glass fibres tend to abrade the mating surface.

KETRON PEEK-CA30 (black) (PEEK-CF30)
This 30% carbon fibre reinforced grade combines even better mechanical properties (higher E-modulus, mechanical strength and creep resistance…) than KETRON PEEK-GF30 with an optimum wear resistance. Moreover, the carbon fibres provide 3.5 times higher thermal conductivity than unreinforced PEEK - dissipating heat from the bearing surface faster.
