There are sometimes special electrical requirements, a special case where the connector needs to be screened through the connector or there are more stringent requirements for the connector to form part of the RF feeder. In these cases, the connector may in nature need to be coaxial, where two conductors are made such that one conductor surrounds the other. For RF connectors, the requirements may be more stringent because the characteristic impedance of the feeder needs to be maintained through the connector.
