SWA shallow water fiber optic cable

SWA shallow water fiber optic cable is multi loose tube cable with a steel central strength member, containing 6 to 12 water blocking gel filled tubes and each tube contain up to maximum 6 to 12 fibers. The cable jacket incorporates a moisture barrier, inner LSZH layer, a layer of steel wire armour and LSZH outer jacket preventing any water penetration. The steel wire armouring provides additional mechanical protection & 100% rodent proof to the cable thus making is suitable for direct burial & harsh environment installations. In addition the flame retardant Low Smoke Zero Halogen outer sheath provides not only the flame retardant capability but also emit low smoke and non toxic gas when it is burnt .

Basic Construction

Optical Fiber
Singlemode 9/125um or Multimode(50/125um or 62.5um) fibers. Refer to Fiber Specification Data Sheet for more detail

Central Strength Member(CSM)
1.8mm – 2.5mm steel wire central strength member. PE is coated over the steel if necessary.

Loose Tube
PBT tube 1 . 8 – 2.4 mm outer diameter, containing up 1-12 fibers, filled with water-blocking,thixotropic gel to prevent the ingress of water.

Fillers
Fillers may be used, if necessary, to preserve the cable geometry.

Moisture Barrier
0.15mm Aluminum tape provides additional moisture barrier.

Inner Sheath
LSZH inner jacket is extruded over the moisture barrier. The thickness is normally 0.8 – 1.2mm.

Steel Wire Armour
Steel wire armor is longitudinally applied over the inner jacket. Outer diameter of the steel wire is 1.0mm

Outer Jacket
LSZH outer jacket is extruded over the armouring. Nominal thickness is about 1.6 – 1.9mm.
