This is a two color LED. Basically, you can take this LED as Red Through-hole LED or Blue Throguh-hole LED. Because when you connect the pin on the left or right and the middle pin. The LED will be show the color that you need. Different with 309ERBWD-10, we package this Z309FRBWD-8 with common anode. But 309ERBWD-10 are the common cathode. For some design, people will have some required about the polarity of pin, such as you might need some RGB LED(5mm RGB LED 8mm RGB LED or 3mm RGB LED)or Bi-color LED lamps to be common cathode or common anode. As we know, for common LED Lamps, there will got a anode and cathode pins to light up the LED Lamp. For Bi-color LED Lamps, there will just got 3 pins instead of 4 pins to control. Then it means there will have a common anode or common cathode pins among these three pins.
