Abrasion resistance refers to the ability of a material to resist wear and is related to the hardness, strength and texture of the material. The higher the hardness of the material, the better the wear resistance; the higher the hardness of the hard spots such as carbides and nitrides in the structure, the smaller the particles, the larger the number and the more uniform the distribution, the higher the wear resistance. The zirconia ceramic inserts are subject to large cutting forces, shocks and vibrations during cutting. To avoid chipping and breaking, the ceramic insert material should have sufficient strength and toughness. The strength and toughness of a material are usually expressed in terms of flexural strength and impact value. Heat resistance: refers to the ability of zirconia ceramic insert materials to maintain sufficient hardness, wear resistance, strength and toughness, oxidation resistance, anti-blocking and anti-diffusion properties (also known as thermal stability) at high temperatures. Thermosetting: The ability of a material to maintain high hardness at high temperatures is called thermosetting (also known as high temperature hardness, red hardness) and is a prerequisite for ceramic cutting insert materials to maintain cutting performance. The higher the high temperature hardness of the tool material, the better the heat resistance and the higher the cutting speed allowed. The heat transfer coefficient of the blade material is large, which is favorable for transferring heat from the cutting zone and reducing the cutting temperature. Good processability and economy: In order to facilitate the processing and manufacturing of zirconia ceramic inserts, the blade materials should have good process properties such as hot rolling, forging, welding, heat treatment and machining.
