Description of Silicon Nitride Ceramic (Si3n4)Electrical Insulators

Silicon Nitride Ceramic (Si3N4) has uniform high temperature properties and is a commonly used ceramic material in the metallurgical industry. Due to its microstructure, it has excellent resistance to thermal shock. In addition, Si3N4 has excellent creep and oxidation resistance, and its low thermal conductivity and high wear resistance make it an excellent material that can withstand the conditions of most industrial applications.

Silicon Nitride Ceramic Si3N4's low thermal conductivity and resistance to attack by a wide range of molten metals make it widely used in radio frequency heating. Si3N4 electrical insulators are also ideal for aerospace applications due to their higher strength and thermal shock resistance compared to other traditional insulator materials.

Silicon Nitride is produced in 5 different methods including SRBSN, GPSN, HPSN, HIP-SN and RBSN and therefore has slightly different applications and working materials. Of these five production methods, GPSN is most commonly used to produce Silicon Nitride Ceramic (Si3N4) components.
