Alumina Ceramics:

Alumina ceramic is suitable for NaOH Na2O2, Na2CO3 NaHCO3 and alkaline solvent melt samples containing KNO3. It is not suitable for acidic solvents such as KHSO4 or NaHS04, K2S2O7 or Na2S2O7 and sulfur-containing alkaline sulfide flux melting samples. Iron strontium is used in the case of melting a strong alkaline substance such as NaOH, but it is not widely used due to problems such as rust and oxidation, and is still dominated by inactive metal ruthenium. Cast iron crucible is cast iron cast iron, used to melt aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, lead alloy, tin alloy, niobium alloy and other metal utensils, more durable than iron. 1. Can be used at around 1200 degrees
2. It is suitable for melting samples of acidic substances such as K2S2O7.
3. Generally, it can not be used to melt with a basic substance such as NaOH, Na2O2 or Na2CO3 as a flux to avoid corrosion of porcelain crucible. Porcelain can not be contacted with hydrofluoric acid.
4. Porcelain crucibles are generally washed with dilute hydrochloric acid.
A sputum having an alumina content of more than 95% is called corundum.
1. Corundum is composed of porous fused alumina, which is firm and refractory.
2. Corundum is suitable for melting samples with some weak alkaline substances such as anhydrous Na2C03 as a flux. It is not suitable for melting samples with strong alkaline substances such as Na 202 and NaOH and acidic substances (such as K2S 207, etc.).
