As for the function, it's full output of the battery voltage, no PCB, and there will be no problem even when you put wrong of positive and negative terminals of the battery.
There is a pulley at the bottom of the tube, it can make the switch of the battery locked automatically when the pulley is down, so it will not work automatically when you put it in your pocket.
