OSRAM DURIS LEDs generate high CRI light without compromising on brightness.  Older high CRI LEDs generally produced less than half the flux of the OSRAM DURIS LEDs.

As 100 lm/W efficacy is still achievable when using frosted PC covers, the luminous flux of the 1.2m Extreme tube light can exceed 2000 lumens.

Frosted PC covers reduce the glare from individual LEDs and the uniform arrangement of the LEDs make the Extreme tube light look similar to a very bright fluorescent tube.

Unlike fluorescent tubes, the LED tube will not flicker.

OSRAM DURIS 5630 LEDs are more powerful than the more comon 3528 LEDs.  Operating at less than half the rated current of the LEDs produces less heat, prolonging the life of the LEDs.

The LEDs are mounted on an aluminum PCB, ensuring prompt transfer of heat away from the LEDs.  The aluminum PCB is then bonded on a patented aluminum frame, specially designed to have a larger surface area to dissipate heat to the surrounding air.

This aluminum frame also provides the tube light with a rigid structure, guarding against the sagging that plagues full plastic tube lights.

The patented,  heat resistant G13 lamp base at each end of the tube holds the assembly firmly together and prevents damage or excessive wear to the internal components of tube light. Even without the individual packaging that is standard for each tube light, the assembly can safely withstand the shocks and vibrations of shipping and transport.
